2008 Frist Employee Award Winner

Ralph Crabbe, Plant Operations2008 Frist Employee Award Winner

Ralph is a 30+ year employee having worked in Surgical Services and currently in Plant Operations. This is his second time receiving this distinguishing award and was the first Frist Employee Award Winner 15 years ago. Nominated by a peer, Ralph's humanitarian efforts have touched people locally and afar.

For 25 years, Ralph has gone on multiple mission trips with hospital physicians and community supporters to Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Peru. Some of his humane projects have hit closer to home covering rooftops in Punta Gorda during hurricane season with co-workers.

He also collected and shipped medical supplies to the Tsunami victims by involving the help of area companies. His 4 day work week allows him to use his days off to gather items for the needy, putting over 15,000 miles annually on his vehicle.

The true defining moment of this humanitarian is to find him laughing with children bringing significant meaning to the saying that it is better to give, than to receive. Ralph has given this hospital and community 30 years of laughter, fun and expertise, but the greatest gift that he has given us is to have clothed, laughed and played with the children of the world.

Congratulations, Ralph, as the Frist Humanitarian (Employee) Award Recipient!
