2006 Frist Award Winner
Bonnie Guagliardo
Bonnie Guagliardo, RN, has been named Brandon Regional Hospital's Employee Frist Humanitarian award recipient, according to Mike Fencel, Chief Executive Officer. The award recognizes an employee whose daily dedication and care-giving represent the highest standards of quality and personal commitment.
The Frist Humanitarian Award began in 1971 to honor Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr., a founder of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), who was widely respected for these qualities. Brandon Regional Hospital is part of the HCA healthcare system.
"Bonnie is a nurse who consistently shares her passion for women's health," said Fencel. "Whether she is serving as a prenatal educator, prenatal fitness instructor, a nurse or a Director, Bonnie has played a role in the more than 60,000 deliveries we have performed at Brandon Regional Hospital."
Bonnie is the Director of Women's Services and a long-term employee who has a 25-year track record of sharing her passion for childbirth with expectant parents and new parents in our community. She served for more than a decade as a prenatal educator and fitness instructor. Over the years, she has expanded her community outreach and involvement into breast cancer and cardiac programs, and is widely sought after for her knowledge of women's health issues. She also serves on the Board of the Hillsborough County Healthy Start Coalition.
She was born and raised in Brandon, and is a graduate of Brandon High School. Bonnie resides in Brandon with her husband Larry. They have two grown children who also live in the community, daughter Paige Jackson and son Anthony Guagliardo, and one grandson Nathan.
